Meet the newest member of the Andy Smith Band, bassist JORDY GUIDRY!!
Jordy Guidry, from Mandeville, LA by way of Cecilia,
LA, got his start in music at the early age of 11. He was fortunate enough to be surrounded by a family that played which he
took advantage of by jamming along with them frequently.
As a bassist he became inspired and influenced by Geddy Lee
(RUSH), John Paul Jones (LED ZEPPELIN), Chris Squire (YES), Stu Hamm (JOE SATRIANI, STEVE VAI), Jeff Berlin (BRUFORD, solo artist),
and DREAM THEATER. Jordy’s musical interests extends beyond the prog rock and fusion realms, however, as he also gets into the
New Orleans blues and funk styles.
Before making his way to the Andy Smith Band, Jordy performed as the bassist in the
bands of up and coming country artists, Steve Hagan and Todd O’Neil, sharing the stage as an opening act for major country artists,
TRACY LAWRENCE and JASON ALDEAN, and host of others.
Jordy’s outside interests include fitness/weight lifting, cooking,
and just “hangin’ out”. He’s not a married man as of yet, but he does have serious girlfriend named Kasey.
