ROSS DECOUX:
drums & percussion, lead & backing vocals
Ross Decoux, a native of New Iberia, LA has been a drummer practically since birth (as young child he would be caught sleeping
inside a bass drum - no joke). He has been and still is inspired by bands like Rush, Procupine Tree, Led Zepplin, and Dream
Theater as well as their drummers, Neal Peart, Gavin Harrison, John Bonham, and Mike Portnoy. Other drummers that inspire Ross
are Peter Erskine and Dave Weckl.
Ross has been playing drums professionally since the age of 12, and briefly attended
the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now called U of LA @ Lafayette). After only a couple of years of college, Ross decided
to head to Tennessee to pursue working in the Chattanooga music scene. Once there, he quickly gained notoriety playing
and/or recording with different artists, most notably ROGER ALLEN WADE.
He came to the Andy Smith Band
in 2000, and has been rocking and growing as a musician ever since. When not playing drums with Andy Smith Band, he performs
when called upon at East Bayou Baptist Church. In his spare time he writes original music either by himself, with his dad, or
his brother. The only way to truly appreciate his abilities is to catch him at a live show.
Ross is still living
in New Iberia and is engaged to a lovely lady named Michelle (AKA "Pud", short for pudding).
