ED GORE:
piano, organ, programming, lead & backing vocals
New Iberia, LA native, Ed Gore, got his start on piano at an early age. Initially, it was his mother, who plays some
piano herself, who exposed Ed to the instrument. From there Ed's amazing ear took over and he was able to develop his talents.
He later went to UL of Louisiana (then USL) to major in music, but, oddly enough, not on piano but rather the trombone. His
influences include players like Elton John, Dr. John, and Jordan Rudess (DREAM THEATER).
Ed joined the Andy Smith
Band around 1986 where he has been able to develop his skills as a player, a songwriter, a music programer, and a producer.
He briefly left to play with Cajun/French music artist, Zachary Richard, where he toured all over the country and opened for Los Lobos
and other major artists.
Once back in the band he continued to develop his skills and later began singing lead in addition
backing vocals to assist Andy Smith on the gigs. In addition to his work with Andy Smith Band Ed works at Master Track studios
in Crowley, LA as an assistant recording engineer/producer, and also at East Bayou Baptist Church in Lafayette, LA to assist in the
music ministry.
Ed currently lives in Lafayette with his wife, Melonie, and his daughter, Jordan, and son, Alex.
